Yes it is, and it shadows you through and throughout your journey in this life, here after life, and many lives after words - according to the theory of Reincarnation and evidences documented by all religions and civilizations.
Karma Theory also says the same thing that your actions get recorded at the Soul Level. People say that what we wish without Selfishness and Ego, gets connected with the Total Universal Mind and things happen. There were studies done on Mass Prayers by Harvard to prove this and History and Team Work is an example of the same principle.
Even in Physics they have proven that particles carry "memory" of their "twins" for eons when they separate and journey for millions and billions of years in space and time. Recently IBM demonstrated making an Atom store information.
This is the basis of Hindus calling the "soul" as the "Atma" and the Germans calling the same word as "Atam" which became the word "Atom" - as it is pronounced by the Germans like that - and all early Atomic Discoveries were made by the Germans. So much so, that after the World War 2, Hitler's German Atomic and Rocket Scientists, running into the numbers of many tens of them, were given refuge in the US, and made to work for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena and other parts of the US.
In one of the Schools of Hindu Philosophy, called "Visheshya Philosphy" it was said that every thing is made of the same "unit", which is called the "Atomic Theory". And the "Atma" and "Param Atma" or "Brahman", which people call Super Soul or Super Consciousness, and I call it THE FIRST PRINCIPLE - THE MOTHER OF ALL LEVELS OF CONSCIOUSNESS AND THE SUM MUM BONUM OF ANIMATE AND INANIMATE EXISTENCE, are related like a container and the contained.
The Dictum of Gita, that "Atma never dies and Atma is Never Born" is nothing but the Laws of Conservation of Energy and Matter, which is one and the same (as confirmed by Science and shown by the famous Einstein's E=mc2 formula), with some localization of Time and Space! It says, "it is never burnt by Fire, made wet by Water, made dry by Wind..." and so on..to the extent "it is the Smallest of the Smallest" and the "Biggest of the Biggest". Everything will come and go, you and me, the Earth, the Moon, the Sun, the Solar System, our Milky Way, the Galaxies, this (and other) Universes, but the First Principle will always be there. So become Eternal by identifying yourself with the First Principle and overcome fear of Death and stop chasing ONLY the things that are temporary and fleeting BUT ALSO have an eye on the bigger perspective ON THE TRUTH OF EXISTENCE.
